Self-Worth
Bible Verses: Genesis 1:27; Jeremiah 9:23-24; Luke 12:7; Romans 5:8, 12:3; Ephesians 2:6-7;
Core Verse: Romans 12:3 – “For by the grace given me I say to everyone of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you.”
Understanding Self-Worth:
Are you special? Are you worth something? YES!!!! You are created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27). No other creature on the face of the planet can claim that specialty. You are unique.
Here’s the bad news. Even though we are all created in the image of God, we are ALL tainted with sin in our life. With this sin, comes death.
I know what you’re thinking. “I’m worth something but then again, i’m not worth anything. PICK ONE!”
Our only significance and self-worth come from our relationship with Christ. Without Christ, we are destined for Hell, so what would be the point of looking pretty or getting lots of money. With Christ, we are destined for eternity in Heaven, so there is a point to having relationships.
In and of ourselves there is sin, wrong choices, pride, selfishness, pain, sorry, BUT…
In Christ there is hope
In Christ there is life
In Christ there is joy
In Christ there is happiness
In Christ there is love
In Christ there are answers
